Thank you for considering DOWNTOWN WOLVES for your child’s AAU experience. Our program offers dedicated players the opportunity to enhance their skills, compete at a high level, and foster a love for the game while learning from some of the most experiences players and coaches in NYC.
At DT WOLVES, we are committed to providing a challenging yet rewarding AAU experience for young athletes. If you believe this program aligns with your child’s goals and aspirations, we look forward to welcoming them to the team.
Program Overview:
- Season Duration: Early April through early June.
- Practices: 1-2 practices per week, starting in late March or early April.
- Tournaments: Weekend obligations, mostly outside NYC in locations like Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and others.
- Commitment: AAU basketball demands dedication, with intense coaching and competition. Playing time is determined at the coach’s discretion.
- Travel: Families should be prepared for weekend travel, weeknight practices, and late schedule releases from Tournament Directors.
- Practice Schedule: Fridays, ranging from late afternoon (4:30pm-8pm) to evening, in local gyms in Lower Manhattan (Lehman Prep and Village Community School)
- Tournament Weekends: April 27 – 28, May 4 – 5, May 11 (Saturday only), May 18 – 19, June 1 – 2, June 8 – 9. Teams will participate in four or five tournaments from these dates, potentially including an overnight trip.
Divisions: Teams available for 3rd – 10th grades
Cost: $1695 for grades 3rd – 5th (one team practice/week). $1995 for grades 6th – 10th (two team practices/week).
Friend Requests Policy:
- 6th Grade and Older: We do not accept friend requests.
- Elementary School Players: Friend requests may impact team placement. Requests must be mutual, and if not received from both parties, accommodation cannot be guaranteed.
